The Wheeltapper

Traditional Irish Pub in midtown Manhattan

As is fitting for a pub so close to Grand Central Station, The Wheeltapper's design evokes the heyday of the Irish railroad system with authentic artefacts and memorabilia from the turn of the century, celebrating the ‘wheeltappers' who inspected train wheels for faults or cracks.

Cozy and warm, the Wheeltapper's two bars, front and back, are comprised of quaint nooks for semi-private dining or drinking, and connected by the Carriage, a dining passage that closely resembles a classic railroad dining car. Both bar areas are filled with comfortable seating and a fireplace warms up the back bar in cold weather.

Flat screen TV's are visible in both bars so you can keep an eye on your favorite sports team or the news headlines, or if you are on the way home, you can check your train departure time from the MTA screen while sitting at the bar.

The Wheeltapper offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, as well as a lighter bar menu.
