A Winter Season Full of New Developments at The Fitzpatrick Hotel Group
The Fitzpatrick Manhattan property builds a fresh new façade
The Fitzpatrick Hotel Group is proud to announce that the full renovation of The Fitzpatrick Manhattan Hotel has just been completed. Located near Central Park in the heart of the city’s trendiest retail district, the Fitzpatrick Manhattan now boasts a new façade, lobby, bar, restaurant and board room. All 91 guest rooms, suites and guest corridors had been fully renovated prior to this phase of refurbishment, and an elegant design now runs consistently throughout the whole hotel.
Owner John Fitzpatrick was actively involved in designing every area of the hotel, and drew much of his inspiration from the finest country estates of Ireland. The finished product offers guests a sanctuary in midtown Manhattan that is both warm and elegant.
The new façade is made of Indiana limestone and features red awnings that warm up the building’s exterior. The redesigned lobby features rich wood paneling and wall sconces, traditional elements that are given a modern interpretation. Subtle Irish details have been incorporated into the décor, including old-fashioned mailboxes inspired by those of the General Post Office of Dublin, and the black and white prints by Dublin photographer Philip Pankov. Warm and more vibrant colors in the carpet and the upholstery play against the darker tones of the walnut wood cabinetry and furniture. Silky red fabrics offer an appealing contrast to the floor made of Italian cast stone. Because classic never goes out of style, the original Waterford Crystal chandelier remains above the new lobby and brings added sophistication to the environs.
The typical front desk has been replaced by two personal wood bureaus that now serve as the reception area, replicating the elegance offered at private country homes. Arriving guests looking to unwind after a long flight can relax, enjoy sherry or warm apple cider and instantly feel at home during the more personalized and welcoming check-in process. Regular clients are pre-checked-in and do not need to go through the registration process when they arrive at the hotel. The renovation of the Fitzpatrick Manhattan Hotel showcases a mix of glamour and intimacy and signals a heightened guest experience, from the seated check-in to the fireside tables in the library.
Both the Fitzpatrick Grand Central and the Fitzpatrick Manhattan will warm up the season with culinary innovations. Tantalizing Thanksgiving and Christmas menus are being offered for the holidays and contemporary cocktails with new flavor combinations are now available at both hotel bars, The Fitz and The Wheeltapper. Featuring updated takes on Thanksgiving essentials, the 4-course Thanksgiving menu will include dishes such as Butternut Squash Puree with Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, Traditional Roasted Turkey Breast, Pineapple & Clove Glazed Black Forest Ham and Pumpkin Pie with Cream Chantilly. The Christmas menu features signature dishes including Lobster Bisque, Grilled New York Strip Steak and Almond Crusted Fresh Atlantic King Salmon Fillet. Irish Christmas Pudding, a tradition at the Fitzpatrick Hotels that takes months to prepare, will be served exclusively on Christmas Day.
The Fitzpatrick Hotel Group has also planned a special entertainment program on Christmas Eve at its midtown location. Guests will enjoy mulled wine, the traditional Christmas pudding and live Christmas carolers by the fireplace, making this a very special evening for family and friends at the Fitzpatrick Hotels. Children staying at the hotel for the holiday will all receive a gift on Christmas morning.
