Chief Engineer
Reporting to the General Manager, the Chief Engineer is responsible for ensuring the operation, repair and maintenance of all equipment, systems and building components, including, but not limited to, mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile and other equipment/work normally maintained/performed by hotel Maintenance Engineers.
This position also monitors the hotel budgets and controls expenses in all areas of the department, as well as ensuring the execution of the hotel's preventive maintenance program. The successful candidate will also have interest and experience in energy saving solutions and loss prevention.
Job Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in hotel maintenance / engineering with at least 2 years experience in a management role
- Must have a valid HVAC / Universal license
- Must have a valid Fire Safety Director License (or certify within 1 month of employment)
Preferred
- High school graduate and trade school certification
- Current certification as required by Federal, State or Local governing agents pertaining to trade requirements (i.e. HVAC, electrical, fire safety, standpipe)
- Current certification and licensing to operate and repair the hotel's boilers as required by New York
- Experience in a unionized environment
- Experience in developing and training staff
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and to communicate effectively in the primary language used in the workplace
- Excellent health and safety standards
Server and/or Bartender - both hotels
Currently we are looking for candidates who have experience in the restaurant / hotel industry, who enjoy working with people and delivering excellent service, to fill server and bartender openings in both Fitzpatrick hotels.
