Are You Planning a Shopping Trip to NYC This Fall?

We all know that fall is a dream time for shopping in New York. The heat has retracted, the air is crisp (but not too cold), the leaves in Central Park are turning golden, and the shops are decked out with new-season collections. Whether you’d like to invest in timeless designer pieces or refresh your wardrobe with the latest high street trends, Fitzpatrick Hotels New York places you right in the heart of the action. Both our Grand Central and Manhattan locations are just steps from 5th Avenue New York, Madison Avenue, and some of the world’s most iconic stores.

Of course, for fashion aficionados, 5th Avenue shopping is the ultimate runway. Saks Fifth Avenue is the home of luxury brands, while Bergdorf Goodman offers everything from couture gowns to statement accessories (certainly worth the look if you are not planning on splurging!). Nearby Madison Avenue is home to some luxury flagship stores like Chanel, Prada, Hermès, and a host of cool independents if you appreciate craftsmanship and exclusivity. A stroll along these streets is as much about people-watching as it is about shopping, with classic New Yorkers to observe just like the movies!

If your style is more about the everyday pieces, or you want to balance a splurge with a steal, 5th Avenue NYC will deliver in spades. Zara, H&M, and Uniqlo have flagship stores on 5th Avenue that offer big collections at affordable prices – you might end up spending more time here than you planned. Anthropologie is perfect for a more boho-inspired feel, while LuLu Lemon and Athleta will appeal to the yoga and athleisure lovers with high quality technical apparel. It would be remiss of us not to mention Abercrombie, if you are on the hunt for jeans, you must stop here, catering to all lengths, styles, shapes and sizes!

Of course, shopping in New York isn’t just about clothes. The MoMA Design Store, a short walk from our hotels, is filled with cool, art-inspired homeware and unique gift ideas you won’t find anywhere else. We would really recommend a look here. Tech enthusiasts can’t miss the Apple Store at Grand Central Terminal or 5th Avenue (open 24/7) offering the latest gadgets, accessories, and cutting-edge innovations. Whatever it is you are looking to buy, Manhattan will certainly deliver it in style!

When the bags are full and your feet are ready for a break, return to the comfort of Fitzpatrick Hotels. Unwind in your elegant guest room or toast your new purchases over a drink at either of our cosy bars. This fall, make your shopping in New York trip as memorable as the city itself, with Fitzpatrick Hotels as your stylish home base.

Experience The Ryder Cup 2025 with a New York State of Mind

In September 2025, the Ryder Cup will return to American soil, this time at the iconic Bethpage Black Course on Long Island. Celebrating 31 Years of Impact: The 2025 Eithne & Paddy Memorial Fund Golf Tournament

Now in its 31st year, the Eithne & Paddy Memorial Fund Golf Tournament once again brought together friends, supporters, and community leaders for a day of purpose and celebration at the iconic Sleepy Hollow Country Club, north of New York City. With its breathtaking Hudson River views and its ranking among the top 100 courses in the USA (#59), Sleepy Hollow was the perfect backdrop for this meaningful annual tradition.

Established by John Fitzpatrick in memory of his beloved parents, the Eithne & Paddy Memorial Fund has become a beacon of generosity, having raised over $5 million to date in support of vital causes across the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the United States. The Fund supports programs that expand educational opportunities, assist families and children impacted by serious illness, deliver essential social services to the elderly, and promote peace and reconciliation in areas of conflict.

This year, we were thrilled to introduce a new tradition: The Inaugural Community Impact Award, presented to Neil J. Hennessy in recognition of his outstanding dedication to community service and philanthropy. Our sincere congratulations to Neil on this well-deserved honor.

We were proud to have Kathy and Neil Hennessy and The Hennessy Funds as the Presenting Sponsors of this year’s event. Their exceptional support helped elevate the occasion and deepen its impact. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our Platinum Sponsor, LTB Mechanical Corp., for their continued generosity and commitment to the Memorial Fund’s mission.

This year’s tournament once again culminated in a gala awards dinner, where guests gathered to celebrate not only the day’s achievements on the course, but also the enduring friendships and shared purpose that define this event.

The Fund is privileged to continue supporting remarkable organisations such as The Ireland Funds, The Wicklow Hospice Project, The New York Irish Center, Solace House, Corporation Ireland, As I Am, The Integrated Education Fund, Barretstown, Barnardos, O’Hanlon Boxing Club, and many others.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of our sponsors, whose generosity makes this event, and the life-changing work it supports, possible.

A special thank you goes to our dedicated Golf Tournament Committee, whose tireless efforts behind the scenes ensured the event’s success:, Shane Cookman, Brian Davey, Shane Fabio, Siona Gomes, Mike Jones, Peter Kidd, David Lavelle, Patrick Leyden, Chris O’Sullivan, Sharon Persaud, Karina Reyes.

And finally, heartfelt thanks to the Fitzpatrick Hotel team and the amazing volunteers who gave their time and energy on the day. Your contribution is an integral part of what makes this event so special.

Here’s to 31 years of generosity, legacy, and collective impact, and to many more to come.

Fitzpatrick Manhattan – 57th & Lexington

Morning:

Afternoon:
Treat yourself to lunch at Avra Madison for fresh Mediterranean fare, then explore the boutiques along Madison Avenue or pop into the MoMA for an hour of art and inspiration.

Evening:

Fitzpatrick Grand Central – 44th & Lexington

Morning:
Get your morning coffee like a true New Yorker at Bluestone Lane on 45th Street, then walk over to Grand Central Terminal, while it’s a landmark, locals love it too. If you have saved yourself, you could grab a little treat from Zaro’s Bakery and venture into the Whispering Gallery (be sure not to say too much!).

Afternoon:
The best way we can think to spend the afternoon is to take a stroll through Bryant Park and visit the New York Public Library while you’re in the vicinity. Lunch at Pershing Square Café across from Grand Central is always a hit – a self proclaimed quintessential American bistro!

Evening:
Settle into The Wheeltapper (located in the hotel!), now streaming GAA Go, so you can catch any matches live with a pint or cocktail in hand. For dinner The Smith offers laid-back local vibes – quick and comforting dinners, just a few blocks away.

No matter which Fitzpatrick you choose, you’re steps from iconic sights, local favorites, and a warm Irish welcome. Planning a trip? Let your NYC adventure begin with us.
